About Action For Nature
Founded by environmental advocate Shimon Schwarzschild, Action For Nature (AFN) is built upon a simple yet powerful philosophy:
“Learn to love and respect the natural world in which you live. Do not be afraid to take action to stop or hinder the degradation of your personal environment and the annihilation of many of the creatures — including human beings — found in it.”
This mission has driven countless initiatives, including the annual International Young Eco-Hero Awards program, which recognizes and encourages children and teens who have taken innovative personal action to protect and preserve the environment.
The Eco-Hero Awards
The Eco-Hero Awards celebrate extraordinary youth, aged 8–16, who have completed impactful projects to “foster respect and affection for nature through personal action.” These awards are not just a recognition of their efforts but a testament to the idea that young people hold the power to create meaningful environmental change.
Every year, the program receives an overwhelming number of applications from young leaders across the globe. These applicants share a common goal: solving environmental problems through determination, creativity, and passion.

I am thrilled to share that I was among the finalists for the 2021 International Young Eco-Hero Awards. The competition this year was particularly intense, with an exceptional number of innovative and inspiring projects submitted from all over the world.
Being part of this prestigious group of finalists is both an honor and a humbling experience. It is a reminder of how many young changemakers are actively working to create a better, more sustainable future for our planet.
