As a facilitator, you’ll guide players through an interactive experience, helping them understand complex environmental challenges and solutions while fostering teamwork and critical thinking. Whether you’re an environmental expert, educator, or someone with a passion for making a difference, becoming a Sustainable Sands facilitator will allow you to play a key role in spreading sustainability awareness.
What Facilitators Do
Facilitators play a vital role in delivering the Sustainable Sands experience. Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
Explaining the Game Rules:
You’ll introduce the game to participants, explain its purpose, objectives, and mechanics, and ensure everyone understands how to play.Guiding Gameplay:
You’ll help participants navigate through the challenge cards, encouraging them to connect causes, consequences, and solutions while ensuring they stay engaged and on track.Encouraging Collaboration:
Facilitators foster teamwork, guiding players as they work together to explore environmental issues, brainstorm solutions, and create meaningful connections.Fostering Discussion:
You’ll lead discussions throughout the gameplay, encouraging participants to reflect on their actions, share insights, and discuss how real-world environmental challenges relate to the cards in play.Providing Support:
You’ll offer guidance when needed, answering questions and assisting teams in understanding the deeper environmental implications of their choices.Leading Debrief Sessions:
After gameplay, facilitators lead reflection sessions, helping players connect their experience to real-world sustainability efforts and motivating them to take action in their communities.

How to Become a Facilitator
Fill Out the Registration Form:
Complete the facilitator registration form with your personal and professional details. We’d love to learn about your background, experience, and why you’re interested in facilitating Sustainable Sands.Review and Approval:
After submitting your form, we’ll review your application and assess your fit for the facilitator role. If selected, you’ll be invited for an onboarding session.Facilitator Training:
Attend a training session to familiarize yourself with the game’s mechanics, objectives, and how to lead an effective session. We’ll also provide tips on managing group dynamics and facilitating discussions.Start Facilitating:
Once trained, you’ll be ready to facilitate Sustainable Sands at events, schools, community programs, or any organization focused on environmental education and sustainability.
Requirements to Become a Facilitator
Passion for Sustainability:
A genuine interest in environmental issues and sustainability education is key to being an effective facilitator.Good Communication Skills:
You’ll need the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and engage participants in meaningful discussions.Experience in Facilitation or Education (Preferred):
Previous experience facilitating groups, workshops, or educational activities is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided to all selected facilitators.Commitment to the Mission:
Facilitators should be committed to fostering an interactive and positive learning environment for participants, ensuring that everyone feels included and encouraged to contribute.
